Reaching Puerto Williams
Puerto Williams the southernmost settlement of the world.
It was only 30nm to sail but wind and waves still gave us a scare, especially when my Propellers bushing gave way and there was no way in this conditions to change it. Ivor gave us a tow and the good news was that we only had to change the Prop and no other damage was detected.
Pt.Williams, the capital of the Chilean Antarctic Province, and administers the communes of Antarctic Territory and Cape Horn.
We been worried knowing that the Harbor Master will decide…YES or NO if our Expedition will be allowed to round the Cape Horn.
The Port authority as always been very friendly and advised us to get the Zarpe today since the weather window for the next 2 days was very promising. Knowing that some boats are waiting for weeks, we took the chance.
Our crew was surprised when Ivor and me told them that tomorrow morning at 04:00am we will get up and shut with the first daylight to the Cape Horn our big dream…which follows me up to today!
