This settlement was abandoned on May 15, 1983, after the great flood of 1982-1983 that exceeded the defence and completely flooded the town; the strategic geopolitical location (frontier town in front of Paraguay) accelerated the decision of the move.

Puerto Bermejo, Chaco, It is located on the banks of the Paraguay River.

Teodoro use to work Coast guard, and his wife Dora was a teacher.
They came back to the old town after the flood. Now they are retired.
