A Way Of Life
Our journey from Lhasa to India has been a very complex one. Since yesterday we have just been travelling. Lhasa to Changdu to Bangalore to Kolkata to Dibrugarh. It is strange that Changdu on mainland China has only two air connections with India. One to New Delhi and the other to Bangalore. We were attracted to Bangalore merely because it was cheaper.
On 31st afternoon as we reached to Dibrugarh our friend Zorba was there at the airport and with him we reached his uncle Masood’s house.
Andy’s wife Jaja and her two Check friends Misha and Romcha; the three new female members who are joining us on the Indian segment were already there. As we reached Masood’s house, his wife Mili was ready with an impressive lunch spread which we all enjoyed after having spent two days in aircraft and airports.
31st also happened to be Misha’s birthday and in the evening after dinner we gave her a surprise by dressing her in a saree-the traditional Indian unstitched wrap-around dress. Her makeup for the evening included a bindi on the forehead, nose ring etc. This was followed by the customary candles and cake. It was all good fun and we were happy to finally have some glamour in the team at least for the Indian section.
