Brahmaputra

Brahmaputra, October 24th

Our Best Wishes

After a good meal last night and content with peeping at the parts of mailing visible from our hotel windows, we drove down to our boats in the morning. There was lot of filming, interview recordings, and jolly group photos. After all that we packed up the boats and engines, loaded the truck and left Mailing by road for Lhasa.

Leaving Mailing was as cumbersome as was getting into it. There were numerous police check post where papers were checked and heads were counted again and again. Finally at the point where the river Nyang Chu meets Yarlung, we said good bye to Yarlung for now with the promise to meet her again in India in her new Avatar as The Bramhaputra.

The long journey to Lhasa first passed through the beautiful Nyang Chu valley, and then we went to the Mila pass. It was almost midnight when we reached Lhasa and crashed in our old faithful Kyichu hotel.
