Brahmaputra

Brahmaputra, October 14th

Very Proud of my Crew

Left Saga early in the morning and drove in search of the most appropriate place to start our journey on the river. After lot of planning, map reading and detours through unfinished roads reached Lhaze in the afternoon and straight away got down to preparing the boats, fixing engines and generally getting ready for the D Day, tom morrow when the real part of our adventure starts. Andy has for the first time smiled and said the following.

After almost 15 days of the preparation to run this mighty river Yarlung – Brahmaputra we have finally reached the stage where the second part of the expedition begins with the boats. The whole crew proudly survived the journey around the mount Kailash and the source of the river. It was not easy to climb passes of 5650 meters, camping in freezing cold. And very proud of my crew and I am sure that everybody has his own stories of ‘ups and downs’ and now facing the mighty Yarlung and ready to step on to the river will be for everybody a slightly scary and totally new experience. Jed and me briefed the crew, along with our three Tibetan guides about safety, signs and procedure of running the ice-cold water. I am sure everybody will go to sleep with mixed feelings of adventure and excitement.

I wish us great teamwork and success.

Andy
